Today, I found a young #dove #chicken, unable to fly, right on the street close to my house while cars are driving around it. I caught it and saved it in a cat transport box with some water and food before we’re gonna drive to the animal shelter tomorrow. Cute one, but very frightened.
Leon Trotsky, aka the Pig on Wheels, is a tiny piglet who had a tragic accident when his mother fell on him, crushing him and leaving him without the function of his two hind legs. When the staff of Australia-based animal sanctuary Edgar’s Mission met Leon this past spring, they immediately fell in love with the adorable piglet and gave him a tiny wheelchair so that he could walk again.
The proposed Maules Creek Coal Mine site is currently home to dozens of amazing species, like these tiny squirrel gliders. These little fellas weigh just 100 grams each! They sleep for up to 23 hours each day in winter, nesting communally in tree hollows to keep each other warm.
