Over 1,100 activists murdered in Brazil for defending animals, the poor and the environment.

Sister Dorothy Stang was gunned down in 2005 for speaking out about how cattle ranching and the croplands built to feed those animals were the biggest source of the destruction of the Amazon rainforest. Over 1,100 activists have been killed in the last 20 years in Brazil, according to the film, Cowspiracy.
