some sad news from the spirit base. The Aureum “The Guitarist” Limited Edition has been set to sold out. This is the story behind:
Sometimes one has to go new ways in order to create something special. Axel Ritt, the guitar player of the german Heavy Metal Band „Grave Digger“, had the unconventional idea to explore the influence of Whisky regarding the vibration behavior and especially the resulting sound of tonewoods. Framus/Warwick (europes biggest manufacturer of guitars and bass-guitars) provided 3 blank guitar tonewoods. Each was fixed with brackets inside special developed oak casks and filled up with 6 years old Aureum 1865 Single Malt Whisky. The following tonewood combinations were used:

maple and olive
swamp ash and chestnut
maple, mahogany and ebony
The result of emptying the barrel after a 7 month storage and maturation is outstanding and facinated everyone who was present at that special event. The combination of the various tonewoods created brand new formerly unkown flavors. A ripe round end product was established, which is adjusted with a alcohol content of 47-48 % vol.. With THE GUITARIST by AUREUM 1865 we introduce the first out of three strictly limited special single cask editions to the market. THE GUITARIST was finished with the tonewoods of maple, mahogany and ebony. It is unstained and non-chill filtered with a drinking strenght of 47 % vol. The colour of the destillate is shiny brown with dark red reflexes. At the nose a concentrated herbal and intense spicy flavour; At the palate extremely complex together with a sweet impression. The blank tonewoods are dried in the meantime. At present the unique guitars are manufactured by Framus/Warwick. The extensive sound examination is finally done by Alex Ritt, who is comparing the sound of the whisky tonewood with the sound of the „unprepared“ tonewood.

This trio special edition of AUREUM 1865 surely is UNIQUE worldwide. #axelritt #ironfinger #the_real_ironfinger #gravediggerband #gravedigger #gravediggerwhisky
